16 Weeks!

Pregnancy is like a 9-month-long Snickers moment. Seriously. Last night, Brandon and I went to Wal-Mart after work. We were in there for about an hour and only ended up with out 10-15 things in our cart. Why? Because this girl couldn't decide what she wanted. And I got suuuuuper grumpy. [Cue the "Awww, poor Brandon!"] I've grown to loathe grocery shopping. (I used to love it!) I buy stuff at the grocery store and then a day later, I have absolutely NO interest in what I bought. So. Frustrating. We've spent way more money than we should eating out simply because I have no clue what I want to eat until right before we eat. And it usually takes too long to cook it, so we go get it somewhere. Really, I just want Chick-fil-A for every meal. Grilled chicken sandwich & a large fruit cup. All day. Every day.

I am so excited to find out the gender of the baby! A big part of me would love to have a boy first. First off, because I think everyone deserves to have a big brother! Also because then I know we would have at least one boy to carry on the Burnside name, my parents would get a grandson (since right now they have 4 granddaughters!) and it wouldn't matter if we had girls in the future :) However, I do loooove little girls. And would LOVE buying even more dresses, bows, and glittery things for her. So at this point, I would be thrilled for either!! I guess if we do end up having a boy, I'll just get to spoil my nieces even more!

16 Weeks

Due date: July 11, 2014

Size of the baby: About the size of a turnip!

Maternity clothes: The bump is trying to catch up with the bump I already had! lol I've had comments on people seeing a bump, but I feel like I just look fatter :) no defined bump yet.

Gender: We will find out THIS SATURDAY!!!

Movement: Nope..but I can't wait!!

Sleep: So hard to get comfortable..and my back pain isn't helping!

What I miss: Being able to grocery shop in peace. (And yes, that's a possible thing!)

Cravings: Fruit! Apples, grapes, strawberries, oranges. 

Symptoms: Back pain. And a couple of numb spots on my legs. Nurse said it was because the baby is sitting right on top of the nerves that go down into my legs. Silly Nugget!

Best moment this week: Finding out if we're having Mason Richard or Emma Reese!!

What I'm looking forward to in the next week: Spending some extra time with Mandi (my sis-in-love) and my two nieces Shelbi Jo & Karli June! :)

Due date: July 11, 2014

Size of the baby: About the size of an avocado!

Maternity clothes: The bump is approaching...so I feel this becoming more relevant in my life!

Gender: The ultrasound tech confirmed the gender of the baby today!! Eeeek! 12 days until we will find out at our gender reveal party!!

Movement: Still none yet...although we saw him/her moving around today at our doc appt!

Sleep: It's getting a little better! I've had a couple of nights where I've tossed & turned some, but I've been sleeping pretty hard lately.

What I miss: A good glass of wine! This sounds so selfish/silly lol but it's nice to have a glass of wine every once in a while!

Cravings: This week, I've been craving healthier foods for some reason? I've been eating lots of grilled chicken sandwiches from Chick-fil-A, grilled chicken wraps from Sonic or turkey sandwiches from Subway! With looooots of spicy mustard :) I've still been craving sweets a lot! And FRUIT!

Symptoms: Fatigue! Just feeling so exhausted all the time. And some back pain!

Best moment this week: Getting to see our sweet Baby Nugget in the ultrasound!!

What I'm looking forward to in the next week: OUR GENDER REVEAL PARTY!!!!!!!! I. Can. Not. WAIT!!!!

14 Weeks!

I saw this on Pinterest and laughed out loud!

Well not too much to update this week! We are getting to excited to find out what the gender is! I've been researching when and where the Duck Duck Goose & Rhea Lana sales are going to be! I may or may not have already printed out the "Mom-to-Be" pass for the Rhea Lana sales in both Bossier & El Dorado... :) But I just couldn't contain myself. We will for sure know the gender by then and I feel like I'm going to go on a crazy shopping spree! Guess I need to start saving a little for that.

We will also start contacting day schools soon for more information. Apparently all the "good ones" usually have waiting lists. So we are getting a head start on that. I'm praying that the Lord places a great one in our path! We will be looking at the different church programs first. It's still up in the air if I will have to go back to work or not after having the baby. (Thankfully, I have an awesome place of employment that is letting me decide and is willing to work with me & my schedule!) But my desire is to be a stay-at-home mom. (for now, at least) However, the Lord will probably have to perform some miracles in order for us to swing that financially. Not saying He couldn't. After all, He is THE miracle worker! But it will just take lots of praying, faith, and patience until we will know for sure. I just keep reminding myself that if it's what He wants for me, He will make it happen. (If you want to add that to your prayer list...it would be greatly appreciated!)

Due date: July 11, 2014

Size of the baby: About the size of a naval orange (4.5 in, 2-3 oz)

Maternity clothes: Still the same - leggings & maternity tops! They are sooo comfy!

Gender: We will find out at our gender reveal party on Feb 1st! We have already chosen names but will wait to share them until we find out the gender!

Movement: Still can't feel any yet. Can't wait until I do though!

Sleep: I'm having some craaaazy dreams! And I keep having dreams about going back to school. Not really sure what that means!

What I miss: I'm at a blank on this one this week. Not really missing anything at the moment!

Cravings: I'm still eating spaghetti noodles with butter & salt lol and strawberries with Cool Whip! It's been my favorite dessert lately!

Symptoms: I get a little cranky from time to time...I'm sure Brandon could fill you in on this more than I could :)

Best moment this week: Traveling to AR on Friday to see my family!

What I'm looking forward to in the next week: Our doctor appt on Monday! I wish I could have ultrasounds once a week! heck..every day! Until I start feeling the baby move around, I wish I could see him/her all the time!

Hellooo Second Trimester...

That's right! I'm officially done with my first trimester. I'm hoping praying that means the nausea will start to die down a little. It already has some! But my gag reflex is just so sensitive, as well as my sense of smell, so sometimes when I smell something awful it can make me a little nauseous. But still haven't not actually gotten sick yet. Thank you, Lord!!

We go for our gender appointment on the 20th! I will be 15 weeks by then. I know you're thinking that's too early. But our NP told us that the majority of their clients have been able to find out that early. So I said, "Shoot! Why not?!" We will be having a gender reveal party the first weekend in February. And my sis-in-love, Mandi, has talked us into waiting until the party for Brandon and me to find out then too! So the only person who will know ahead of time will be Kaitlynn (Mandi's sis-in-love), who will be making the cake for the party!

I can't believe that my due date is 6 months and 2 days away. This is all starting to get so real! My hormones have been going crazy lately, mainly with just lots of tears. Sometimes for no reason at all. But I did that before I was pregnant, so I'm really starting to feel sorry for Brandon! :) (He's been such an awesome support through all of this so far! I could not imagine doing life with anybody else but him!)

13 Weeks

Due date: July 11, 2014

Size of the baby: About the size of a lemon (3 inches, 1.5oz)

Maternity clothes: I got a couple of maternity tops for Christmas. They have been awesome! I've been going for the long tunic & leggings look. Pretty much like every day. It's soo comfortable!

Gender: Not sure! But in a few weeks, we will know!!! :)

Movement: None I can feel yet!

Sleep: I'm getting sleep..but not very good sleep. Toss & turn a lot! And it's only getting worse...

What I miss: my jeans! (NEVER thought I would actually say that!) I'm still a little small for maternity jeans...so really I miss wearing jeans!

Cravings: This week it's been spaghetti noodles with butter & salt on them (I've been eating this since I was a kid, but for some reason just started eating it again!) and Rocky Road ice cream!

Symptoms: Sleeeepppyyyyness. It's getting a little ridiculous.

Best moment this week: Exiting my first trimester! 13 weeks down, 27 more to go!!!

What I'm looking forward to in the next week: Getting to go to Arkansas next weekend to celebrate my Mom's birthday!! :)

P.S. All of these posts are late. Of course. In true Amy fashion. Tomorrow I will be 14 weeks. But I feel like I'm at least doing good just to get these up once a week! Maybe I'll end up catching up...maybe.
